International pax to/from Australia up 9% in Aug-2013, capacity (seats) up 7%
Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (04-Nov-2013) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia in Aug-2013:

- Available seats: 3.6 million, +7.4%;
- Flights: 14,403, +6.8%;
- Cargo volume: 75,649 tonnes, +0.2%;
- Aircraft movements: 15,092, +5.3%;

- Jetstar: 7.4%, -1.3 ppt;
- Cathay Pacific: 4.6%, -0.3 ppt;
- Malaysia Airlines: 4.2%, +0.7 ppt;
- AirAsia X: 3.4%, +0.6 ppt;
- Thai Airways: 3.3%, -0.2 ppt;

BITRE also reported (04-Nov-2013) LCCs - AirAsia X, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Tigerair and Scoot accounted for 14.1% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Aug-2013. The LCC share in Aug-2012 was 14.6%.
