About

Established in 2007, AirAsia X is a long haul, low cost airline based at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The airline provides services to destinations throughout the Asia Pacific and Middle East, operating on routes with sector lengths of four hours or greater. The airline provides 'feeder traffic' to the AirAsia Groups's collection of regional LCCs.

AirAsia X entered a non-binding letter of acceptance in Jan-2024 with Capital A for the proposed acquisitions of AirAsia and AirAsia Aviation Group Limited. AirAsia X would become the regional aviation provider for all short and medium-haul routes under the AirAsia brand name. The acquisition would also include Thai AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia and Philippines AirAsia and AirAsia Cambodia.
