About

Tigerair (formerly Tiger Airways) was a low cost carrier based in Singapore. Tigerair utilised a fleet of narrow-body Airbus aircraft to operate an extensive network of services throughout Asia from its hub at the Singapore Changi Budget Terminal. The carrier was first established in Dec-2003 by a consortium that included Singapore Airlines, Indigo Partners Singapore and Tony Ryan’s RyanAsia Limited. Parent company, Tiger Airways Holdings, became a subsidiary of the Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group in Dec-2014 after SIA increased its stake in the company from 40% to 56%. Singapore Airlines acquired the remaining shares in Tiger Airways Holdings in Mar-2016. Consequent to the acquisition, Tiger Airways Holdings was officially delisted from the Singapore Exchange in May-2016. Singapore Airlines Group established a new holding group for it's LCC subsidiaries (Scoot and Tigerair) called Budget Aviation Holdings. Scoot and Tigerair completed their integration on 25-Jul-2017, rename the airline as Scoot Tigerair Pte. Ltd. The combined airline will operate A320 and Boeing 787 aircraft under a common AOC and use the Scoot brand and TR flight code.
