International pax to/from Australia up 8% in Jul-2013, capacity (seats) also up 8%
Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (09-Oct-2013) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia in Jul-2013:
- Passenger numbers: 2.8 million, +7.7% year-on-year;
- Available seats: 3.6 million, +7.7%;
- Flights: 14,684, +7.2%;
- Cargo volume: 72,438 tonnes, -1.5%;
- Aircraft movements: 15,412, +5.6%;

- Jetstar: 7.1%, -1.3 ppts;
- Cathay Pacific: 4.4%, -0.2 ppt;
- Malaysia Airlines: 4.0%, +0.4 ppt;

- AirAsia X: 3.4%, +0.6 ppt;

BITRE also reported (09-Oct-2013) LCCs - AirAsia X, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Tigerair and Scoot accounted for 14.2% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Jul-2013. The LCC share in Jul-2012 was 14.3%.
