WorldACD: Global airfreight volumes up 2.6% in May-2018

WorldACD reported (01-Jul-2018) worldwide airfreight volumes increased 2.6% year-on-year in May-2018, confirming a downward growth trend since the start of 2018. Volumes increased 4.3% for Jan-2018 to May-2018. Yield in May-2018 increased 7.1% in EUR and 14.4% in USD. The origin markets with the strongest volume growth were Chile at 58%, Japan at 18%, Canada at 17% and the US at 5.8%. India, Russia and Western Europe recorded negative growth. Long haul traffic outgrew short haul, as in previous months, and specific cargo categories outgrew general cargo.
