Turkish Airlines launches services to Uganda and Tanzania

Turkish Airlines launched three times weekly services to Uganda and Tanzania on 14-Jun-2010, increasing the number of international destinations in its network to 123 - see Route Changes Table for more information (Today's Zaman/Focus on Travel/World Bulletin, 15-Jun-2010).The carrier stated Africa represents an important continent for the carrier, with a 49.1% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers from Africa in 2009. Entebbe is the carrier's 14th direct flight destination in Africa after Benghazi and Tripoli (Libya), Cape Town and Johannesburg (South Africa), Algiers (Algeria), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Dakar (Senegal), Khartoum (Sudan), Cairo (Egypt), Casablanca (Morocco), Lagos (Nigeria), Nairobi (Kenya) and Tunis (Tunisia).
