Ryanair to open Berlin Schönefeld base in Oct-2015 with 14 new routes

Ryanair announced (05-Mar-2015) plans to open its 73rd base at Berlin Schönefeld Airport on 27-Oct-2015, with five based Boeing 737-800 aircraft and 14 new routes - see Route Changes Table for more information:

The carrier also plans to continue its seasonal summer services to Madrid and Palermo from Berlin Schönefeld in winter 2015/2016. In addition, Ryanair will increase Berlin Schönefeld-London Stansted frequency from twice to four times daily, Berlin Schönefeld-Milan Bergamo frequency from daily to twice daily and Berlin Schönefeld-Dublin frequency from daily to nine times weekly. Ryanair chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said: "Ryanair is pleased to announce a new Berlin base from October, our 73rd in total, with 5 based aircraft, an investment of $500m, with 16 new routes and 22 routes in total as part of our Berlin winter 2015 schedule, which will deliver 2.6m annual customers and support 2,600 local jobs." Mr Jacobs added: "Germany is a significant growth market for Ryanair and as we announce our 6th German base at Berlin, we will continue to connect key German cities with Europe's major centres of business."
