Berlin Schoenefeld Airport

IATA: n/a
ICAO: n/a
City: Berlin
Country/Territory: Germany

Berlin Schönefeld was an international airport serving the metropolitan region of Berlin, Germany. Schönefeld Airport is part of the Berlin Airports system, which comprises Tegel and Tempelhof airports (both now closed). Schönefeld was the second-largest and the most distant of the three Berlin airports, and was the main gateway for low-cost carriers serving the area, with easyJet and Ryanair major operators at the airport. Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport was developed on the site of Schönefeld, replacing the current airport system in Berlin. Berlin-Brandenburg International will have a capacity of 27 million passengers per year, and is expected to easily accommodate the current 22 million passengers that travel through the current Berlin airport system each year. Berlin Schönefeld officially became BER T5 and had its SXF code removed on 25-Oct-2020.
