Melbourne passenger traffic up 12% in Sep-2010; Asia leads growth

Australia's Melbourne Tullamarine Airport reports passenger traffic up 12% - traffic highlights in Sep-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 2.4 million, +11.8%;
  • Domestic: 1.9 million, +10.8%;
  • International: 519,052, +15.7%. [more]

Melbourne Airport: "Asian passport holders continue to drive growth in international performance, up 22% for the month. Of note, Chinese passport holders were up 13%, Indonesia up 29%, Malaysia up 56%, South Korea up 42%, Taiwan up 23% and Thailand up 22%." Company Statement, 20-Oct-2010.

Melbourne Airport: "This is the fourth consecutive growth in international passenger traffic at Melbourne Airport.
