Lufthansa releases international route changes for summer 2014
Lufthansa announced the following international route changes for summer 2014 effective from 30-Mar-2014 (Airline Route, 11-Oct-2013):
- Frankfurt-Abuja-Malabo: Equipment swap from A330-300 to A340-300 operating daily for summer 2014;
- Frankfurt-Beijing: Equipment swap from Boeing 747-800i to A380 operating daily for summer 2014. According to Innovata, Air China also operates on the route;
- Frankfurt-Boston: Capacity increase with twice daily 747-400 service replacing twice daily A340-600 service in summer 2013. According to Innovata, Lufthansa is the sole operator on the route;
- Frankfurt-Caracas: Equipment swap from A340-300/340-600 to A330-300 from 19-Jan-2014 will be maintained from 30-Mar-2014. According to Innovata, Lufthansa is the sole operator on the route;
- Frankfurt-Detroit: Equipment swap from A340-300 to A340-600 from 30-Mar-2014 to 04-Mar-2014. According to Innovata, Delta Air Lines also operates on the route;
- Frankfurt-Dubai: Equipment swap from 747-400 to A340-300 operating daily during summer 2013. According to Innovata, Emirates also operates on the route;
- Frankfurt-Kuwait: Equipment swap from A330-300 to A340-300 operating three times weekly for summer 2013. According to Innovata, Kuwait Airways also operates on the route;
- Frankfurt-Kuwait-Dammam: Equipment swap from A330-300 to A340-300 operating four times weekly for summer 2013. According to Innovata, Saudia also operates on the route;
- Frankfurt-Miami: Current seasonal winter A380 service to operate year round. According to Innovata, Lufthansa is the sole operator on the route;
- Frankfurt-Montreal: Resumption of seasonal five times weekly service from 16-May-2014 to 12-Oct-2014 utilising A330-300/A340-300 equipment. Lufthansa last operated to Montreal (Maribel) in Oct-1995. According to Innovata, Air Canada and Air Transat also operate on the route;
- Frankfurt-New York JFK: Resumption of A380 service for summer 2014. Lufthansa will operate a 747-400/A380 mix twice daily. According to Innovata, Singapore Airlines and Delta Air Lines also operate on the route;
- Frankfurt-Rio de Janeiro: Equipment swap from A340-300 to 747-400 service for summer 2014. According to Innovata, TAM also operates on the route;
- Frankfurt-Seoul Incheon: Equipment swap from A340-600 to 747-400 for daily service during summer 2014. According to Innovata, Korean Air and Asiana also operate on the route;
- Frankfurt-Shanghai Pu Dong: Resumption of second daily seasonal service for summer 2014 to operate from 16-May-2014 utilising 747-400 equipment compared to A340-600 during summer 2013. Twice daily summer 2014 service will utilise a A380/747-400 mix. According to Innovata, Air China, China Eastern and China Southern also operate on the route;
- Frankfurt-Tokyo Narita: Equipment swap from A380 to 747-400 to be maintained daily beyond 30-Mar-2014. According to Innovata, ANA and JAL also operate on the route;
- Frankfurt-Toronto: Equipment swap from A340-600 to 747-400 operating daily during 2014. According to Innovata, Air Transat and Air Canada also operate on the route;
- Frankfurt-Vancouver: Equipment swap to 747-400 to be maintained beyond 30-Mar-2014 operating daily. According to Innovata, Air Transat and Condor also operate seasonally on the route;
- Munich-Boston: Equipment swap from A340-300 to A340-600 from 01-Jun-2014 operating daily. According to Innovata, Lufthansa is the sole operator on the route;
- Munich-Vancouver: Seasonal summer 2014 service to launch on 30-Mar-2014 instead of Apr-2014 utilising A330-300 equipment. According to Innovata, Lufthansa will be the sole operator on the route;
- Munich-Seoul Incheon-Busan: Equipment swap from A340-300 to A340-600 equipment operating six times weekly.
