Berlin Tegel Airport to remain operational until scheduled closure in Nov-2020
Berlin Airport Company stated (03-Jun-2020) "clear signs of an impending recovery" of air traffic has led the company to withdraw its application for exemption from the operating obligation of Berlin Tegel Airport. The airport will remain in operation until its scheduled closure on 08-Nov-2020, after the commissioning of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The operator expects Berlin connections to increase from 40 to 100 between Jun-2020 and Jul-2020, with up to 20,000 passengers daily from the end of Jul-2020, up from around 3000 daily in Jun-2020. Airlines resuming and gradually increasing capacity include easyJet, Ryanair, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, KLM, Air France and Qatar Airways. [more - original PR - German]
