It was the former main hub for airberlin and became a major hub for easyJet in Germany alongside Berlin Schoenefeld.

Berlin Schoenefeld Airport officially came online on 31-Oct-2020. Berlin Tegel Airport handled its final commercial service on 08-Nov-2020, after which all traffic in Berlin is centralised at BER.
