Avianca increases North and South American services

Avianca announced (24-Oct-2012) plans to increase its network throughout the US, the Caribbean and South America from Dec-2012 with an additional 1880 weekly seats to Miami, New York, Orlando, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Havana, Rio and La Paz. AviancaTaca Holding's CEO Fabio Villegas Ramirez said, "With the expansion of the service from the Avianca hub in Bogota, we aim to offer better connectivity across the length and breadth of the continent, at the same time as we maximise the advantages that the new international terminal of the Colombian capital provides."   • Bogota-Miami: Frequency increase to 21 times weekly from 16-Dec-2012;
  • Bogota-New York JFK: Frequency increase to 14 times weekly from 17-Dec-2012;
  • Bogota-Orlando: Daily service launches 17-Dec-2012;
  • Bogota-Punta Cana: Frequency increase to four times weekly on 18-Dec-2012;
  • Bogota-Santo Domingo: Frequency increase to daily from 19-Dec-2012;
  • Bogota-Havana: Frequency increase to four times weekly from 22-Dec-2012;
  • Bogota-Rio de Janiero: Daily service from 17-Dec-2012;
