Avianca Group International Limited (formerly Avianca Holdings SA) is a Latin American airline holding company. Avianca Holdings SA (formerly AviancaTaca AirHoldings Inc) was formed in 2010 as a result of a merger between Avianca and TACA. The group now hold stakes in a number of airlines previously part of Avianca SA and Grupo TACA.

  • Tampa Cargo SAS (Avianca Cargo): (100%);
  • Trans American Airlines SA (Avianca Peru, ceased May-2020): (100%);
  • Aerovías del Continente Americano SA (avianca): (99.98%);
  • AeroGal (Avianca Ecuador): (99.62%);
  • TACA International Airlines SA (Avianca El Salvador): (96.84%);
  • LACSA (Avianca Costa Rica): (92.40%);
  • Aviateca SA/TACA Regional Guatemala (Avianca Guatemala);
  • Aerounion (minority);
  • Regional Express Americas;
  • Not formally part of Avianca Holdings SA, Avian Líneas Aéreas (Avianca Argentina): The carrier is wholly-owned by the Synergy Group and not part of Avianca Holdings SA. 

Avianca Holdings SA revealed its new unified ‘Avianca’ brand image for TACA Airlines, Aerogal and Tampa Cargo on 28-May-2013. 

On 10-May-2020, Avianca filed for bankruptcy protection due to the coronavirus pandemic. The airline hopes to emerge as “a better, more efficient airline that operates for many more years.”

On 12-May-2020, Avianca announced the carrier is commencing a liquidation of its operations in Peru pursuant to local laws, which will allow Avianca to renew its focus on core markets upon emergence from its court-supervised reorganisation.

In Nov-2021, Avianca Holdings announced its intention to reincorporate as a UK based entity named Avianca Group International Limited, following the acceptance of its restructuring plan by the US Southern District Court of New York. Trading of Avianca's stock on the Colombian Stock Exchange has been suspended.

On 01-Dec-2021, Avianca announced the completion of its restructuring process and subsequent emergence from Chapter 11 proceedings. The company also reincorporated as Avianca Group International Limited, a UK based entity.

Avianca rebranded as avianca with a lowercase a on 17-Oct-2023.
