Hainan Airlines Group

Originally founded in 1989, Hainan Airlines Group is a large privately-owned airline group based in Hainan, China. Hainan Airlines, together with its affiliates the Hainan Airlines Group, operates an extensive network of domestic and international services from its main hub at Haikou Meilan International Airport.

The Hainan Airlines Group is headquartered in Haikou City, Hainan and is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE: 600221). Members of the Hainan Airlines Group include:

On 29-Jan-2021, Hainan Airlines announced creditors applied to the court for the reorganisation of the airline and its subsidiaries, including Air Changan, Shanxi Airlines, Lucky Air, Fuzhou Airlines, Urumqi Air, Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines and HNA Aviation Technik. Hainan Airlines stated its subsidiaries will perform daily operations as normal despite the "major uncertainty" on whether they will enter reorganisation process.

On 23-Oct-2021, HNA Group announced the group and its related companies have voted to approve the company's restructuring plan.

HNA Group's management of its core aviation business, including Hainan Airlines, was transferred to the strategic investor Liaoning Fangda Group, effective 08-Dec-2021.

On 24-Apr-2022, HNA Group stated all four restructuring plans related to the group have been completed with court approvals.
