About
Hong Kong Airlines was founded in 2001 as CR Airways and has grown to become one of Hong Kong’s largest carriers. Part of the Hainan Airlines Group, the carrier operates services throughout Asia and the Indian subcontinent with narrowbody and widebody equipment.
In Sep-2022, Hong Kong Airlines proposed to apply to the High Court of Hong Kong and the High Court of Justice of England and Wales seeking orders to convene meetings of certain of its creditors and put forward its restructuring proposal. Failure to gain approval is likely to lead to "insolvent liquidation". The first hearing in the High Court of Hong Kong is scheduled for 13-Oct-2022, while the first hearing in the High Court of Justice of England and Wales will be held on 25-Oct-2022.
