About
Suparna Airlines Company Limited, operating as Suparna Airlines, is a privately-owned airline based at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, China. Suparna was founded in 2003 as an all-cargo airline branded as Yangtze River Express, operating domestic and international services from its main base at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, and secondary hub in Xian. The carrier applied with CAAC to expand its business scope in Jul-2015 to include passenger transportation, becoming the third Chinese all-cargo airline to make the transition after Loong Air and Donghai Airlines. Suparna Airlines launched it's first passenger Sanya-Shanghai service on 15-Dec-2015 under the brand name Yangtze River Airlines. It was rebranded as Suparna Airlines on 08-Jul-2017. Suparna is part of the HNA Group.
