(c) Centre for Asia Pacific Aviattion, PREMIUM: Abu Dhabi International Airport has registered a record year in 2007, handling 6.9 million passengers, up 31% year-on-year, making it one of the fastest growing airports in the Middle East region. The airport is expected to have risen from 190 in the ACI global airport rankings by passenger numbers in 2006 to around 150 in 2007. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi's cargo volume continued its strong performance last year, rising 22% to 315,317 tonnes in 2007.
