Zayed International Airport (formerly Abu Dhabi International Airport) is a major international gateway to the United Arab Emirates. The airport is operated by Abu Dhabi Airports Corporation. Abu Dhabi International Airport was renamed as Zayed International Airport under the directive of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to honour UAE founder and former president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyanand.
