Zurich Airport outlines winter 2011/12 schedule changes
Switzerland's Zurich Airport outlined (25-Oct-2011) the following new routes/frequencies/schedules in the winter 2011/12 schedule from the airport:
- SWISS International Air Lines: Offering daily service from Feb-2012 and frequency to London Heathrow will increase from six times weekly to daily;
- airberlin: Will operate twice weekly, instead of weekly, over winter. Services will also be operated to Skopje;
- Edelweiss Air: Has added Cape Town to its route network (twice weekly) as a new destination. There is also a new weekly service to Colombo (Sri Lanka) in combination with Male International Airport (Maldives). This rotation means there will be three weekly services to Male. The flight frequency to Phuket is also being increased to twice weekly in the future;
- Helvetic Airways: Bari will be served daily and Cardiff three times weekly. During the Christmas period, Helvetic Airways will also operate to Brindisi, Catania and Lamezia Terme;
- Aer Lingus: Aer Lingus will operate daily, instead of six times weekly, to Dublin;
- Aeroflot: Services to Moscow have been doubled to twice daily;
- Malev: Malev has increased the frequency of services to Budapest from seven to 10 times weekly;
- Ostfriesische Luftfahrtgesellschaft: Expanding services to Bremen to 17 times weekly service;
- Oman Air: Starting with the winter flight plan, Oman Air will operate to Muscat with four times weekly frequency;
- SriLankan Airlines: SriLankan Airlines will be returning to Zurich Airport to offer three weekly services to Male (Maldives) and Colombo (Sri Lanka) from 23-Dec-2011;
- Transavia: Transavia will operate to Eindhoven (Netherlands) three times weekly between 24-Dec-2011 to 08-Apr-2012;
- Tunisair: Tunisair will increase frequency to Tunis from twice to three times weekly;
- United Airlines: As a result of the renovation work at Check-in 1, United Airlines will move to Check-in 2 until mid-Nov-2011;
- Vueling: Starting with the winter flight plan, the airline will offer a service twice daily to Paris' Orly Airport and Barcelona. [more - original PR]
