Formerly known as Air Lanka, SriLankan Airlines is the national carrier of Sri Lanka based in Colombo. Using a fleet of narrow and wide-body Airbus aircraft, SriLankan Airlines operates a network of regional services within Asia and the Subcontinent, as well as services to the Middle East and Europe. In 2016 SriLankan Airlines undertook a consolidation strategy, merging its low-cost subsidiary Mihin Lanka into the mainline brand. Mihin Lanka operated its final service on 30-Oct-2016, and SriLankan Airlines absorbed the subsidiary's service network.
