Cardiff Airport is the gateway to Wales. Services are operated to over 50 non-stop destinations and one-stop connecting options are also available to over 800 cities via European hubs at Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin and Barcelona. The traffic has a strong mix of business and leisure with VFR, Holiday and Sports related travel purposes prominent in the leisure mix. Wales hosts many large sporting events which attracts tourism frequently to events at the Millennium Stadium for Rugby, Swansea City and Cardiff City for top flight football and Celtic Manor for Golf. 17 Airlines currently make regular use of the facilities for Scheduled, Charter, Maintenance and Training flights. The largest operators are Thomson Airways, Flybe, Thomas Cook, CityJet, KLM, Aer Lingus, Vueling and British Airways. The airport is also a major centre for British Airways MRO operations.
