Velana International Airport, previously known as Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, is the primary international gateway to the Maldives. Operated by Maldives Airports Company Limited, it is the hub for 10 domestic destinations, and is the hub for the national airline, Maldivian. The airport provides connections to more than 30 international destinations, and serves more than 30 international airlines. Velana is the family name of the Maldives' second President, Ibrahim Nasir.
