About

Las Américas International Airport serves the capital of the Dominican Republic and largest city in the Caribbean, Santo Domingo. Las Américas is the second busiest airport in the country after the tourism-heavy Punta Cana International Airport. The airport is served by numerous Caribbean carriers with extensive connections throughout the region. All major US carriers serve Las Américas with JetBlue having the largest presence, while Air Europa, Air France, Condor and Jetairfly offer direct services to Europe. Brazilian carrier Gol plans use the airport as the hub for the carrier's subsidiary Gol Dominicana, a partnership between Gol and Dominican equity investors which will offer services throughout the region.

The airport is equipped to handle aircraft up to A380s, with a 3300m runway and the new North Terminal which is able to handle two A380s or six Boeing 747s simultaneously. The airport has capacity for 4.1 million passengers p/a and is operated by Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI SA (Aerodom). The airport operator is part of VINCI Airports (a subsidiary of VINCI Group).
