Viva Air urges Colombian Government to take action on assisting the aviation industry

Viva Air, via its official LinkedIn account, stated (06-Jun-2020): "We make an urgent call for the Government of Colombia to take decisions in order to survive the worst crisis in the world aviation history". Viva Air pleaded: "We have our base in Rionego. All aircraft are registered in Colombia, we pay taxes in the country… 98% of our workforce is Colombian. We generate around 3450 direct and indirect jobs in addition to the thousands of jobs the industry generates thanks to the connectivity and tourism". As previously reported by CAPA, the carrier sought a USD50 million credit line from the Colombian Government.
