The US Department of Transportation issued a final order to terminate the Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico joint cooperation agreement effective 01-Jan-2026, citing Mexico's non-compliance with the 2015 US-Mexico Air Transport Agreement and actions that undermined competitive conditions, such as rescinding slots and relocating US cargo carriers at Mexico City Juarez International Airport since 20221 2. Delta and Aeromexico challenged the order in court, arguing the termination would be highly disruptive3.
