Turkish Airlines plans to launch LCC services to UAE

Turkish Airlines Director for Dubai and Sri Lanka, Aysee Misirli Mirza, stated the carrier plans to launch services through AnadoluJet to Dubai and Abu Dhabi once it receives permission to operate additional services to the UAE (Gulf News, 13-Sep-2010). Turkish currently operates 18 weekly services to the UAE - 14 to Dubai and four to Abu Dhabi, with Ms Mirza stating the carrier plans to expand this to 21 services to Dubai and seven to Abu Dhabi before launching the AnadoluJet services.

Turkish Airlines: "We want to increase flights to the UAE - both Dubai and Abu Dhabi - as passenger traffic on the UAE-Istanbul sector is growing at a faster pace. AnadoluJet would be able to start flights as soon as we get sufficient traffic rights to the UAE," Aysee Misirli Mirza, Director for Dubai and Sri Lanka. Source: Gulf News, 13-Sep-2010.
