South African Airways, Egypt Airways, Ethopian consider African JV

South African Airways, EgyptAir and Ethopian Airlines are considering an African JV agreement, under the Star Alliance banner, according to Lufthansa CEO-designate Christoph Franz (AFP/Afrique Jet, 29-Sep-2010). Lufthansa could support the project financially. SAA is expected to make an announcement later in 2010 about establishing a new carrier that will target operations in central African countries such as Gabon, Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sao Tome & Principe and the Central African Republic.
