Russian domestic pax down 14.1%, intl down 14.8% for nine months to Sep-2009

Russia's Transport Clearing House (TCH) reports (10-Nov-2009) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic highlights for Russian airlines for the nine months ended 30-Sep-2009:

  • Passenger number: 34.3 million, -14.1% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 17.8 million, -14.8%;
    • International: 16.5 million, -13.4%;
  • Passenger load factor: 75.1%, +0.3 ppt;
    • Domestic: 72.0%, +1.0 ppt;
    • International: 77.7%, -0.2 ppt;
  • Cargo volume: 493,493 tonnes, -18.4%;
    • Domestic: 153,181 tonnes, -19.9%;
    • International: 340,312 tonnes, -16.3%.

Aeroflot remained the largest carrier by total system (domestic and international) passenger traffic for the nine months ended 30-Sep-2009. The top ten airlines are as follows:
