Rolls-Royce starts shipping first of 200 engines for Emirates' A380s

Rolls-Royce announced (11-May-2016) it dispatched the first 'shipset' of four Trent 900 engines as part of its largest ever order, powering 50 A380s ordered by Emirates. The engines have been shipped from the Rolls-Royce assembly site at Derby to the Airbus facility in Toulouse, where they will be fitted to the A380 aircraft. Rolls-Royce is providing Trent 900 engines and 'TotalCare' service for all 50 of the new Emirates A380s, the first of which will enter service later in 2016. The order from Emirates was announced in 2015. Emirates also recently confirmed that it will operate an additional two A380s that will be powered by the same engine with TotalCare service support.
