Republic Airways announces order for up to 80 Bombardier CSeries aircraft
Republic Airways ordered (25-Feb-2010) 40 CS300s from Bombardier. Republic also took options for up to 40 additional aircraft. The aircraft, configured in a single-cabin, with 138 seats in two-by-three configuration, including 25 'STRETCH' seats, are scheduled for delivery from 2Q2015. The contract is valued at approximately USD3.06 billion at list prices, which could increase to approximately USD6.34 billion if all options are exercised. Republic is the first North American airline to place a firm order for Bombardier's CSeries. Pratt & Whitney will provide 80 PW1000G engines for the 40 CSeries aircraft, as well as six spare engines. In addition, Republic has signed an exclusive 15-year MRO contract with Pratt & Whitney for these engines. This order is the fourth for the PW1000G engine, which now is slated to power up to 205 aircraft. [more- Republic Airways] [more - Bombardier] [more - Pratt & Whitney][more - Perspective]
