Qantas working through potential destinations for 787s, to announce network by end of 2016

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (05-Aug-2016) there are "three potential networks" the carrier is working through for its incoming Boeing 787-9 fleet. Mr Joyce noted: "We're talking to the airports and the states to make them successful… There's lots of alternatives about where we can deploy those aircraft, so we're working through that and by the end of this calendar year we'll be making an announcement about the route network for the 787s." As previously reported by CAPA, Qantas Airways will take delivery of the first of eight 787-9s during Oct-2017.
