Qantas Airways is the national airline of Australia. Originally established in 1920, it is a founding member of the oneworld alliance and operates an extensive domestic and regional network within Australia as well as international services to all major continents.
The Qantas Group maintains its headquarters and operational base in Sydney, Australia and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: QAN).
As part of a long-term strategy of diversification, the Qantas Group has gradually expanded its portfolio through mergers & acquisitions, the launch of several start-up LCC's and through the decentralisation and development of existing business units such as Qantas Frequent Flyer, Qantas Ground Services, Q Catering and Qantas Defence Services.

The Qantas Group also hold minority interests in:
- Jetstar Asia (49%, since 2004)
- Jetstar Pacific (30%, since 2007)
- Jetstar Japan (33%, since 2012)
- Fiji Airways (46%)
