Qantas notes changing expectations of Gen Y, Gen X important for business to align with
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, said (05-Aug-2016) it is important for the group to target and be aligned with the next generation of employees and customers in 'Generation Y' and 'Generation X'. Mr Joyce noted: "Today its estimated that those segments account for over $200 billion in expenditure and it's estimated by 2020 that they'll represent 50% of the workforce, they think very differently… Their values are different." Mr Joyce added it is important for Qantas to make sure people are aware of it's social responsibility, which Qantas has always had, as: "There's demand from that segment that companies in corporate Australia act in that way."
