MTU records orders worth over USD1.3bn at Paris Air Show
MTU Aero Engines reported (20-Jun-2013) it won orders and commitments for more than 1300 engines over four different programmes at the 2013 Paris Air Show, valued at more than USD1.3 billion. More than 75% of the orders were for Pratt and Whitney's PW1000G family for the A320neo and the new Embraer E-jets E2, for which MTU has assumed responsibility for 30% of final assembly. Order highlights include:
- Over 300 PW1100G-JM firm orders made by Spirit Airlines and LATAM, as well as aircraft leasing companies including Air Lease Corp, ILFC and Aviation Capital Group;
- 730 orders for PW1700G/PW1900G engines, including options, from SkyWest and ILFC for their E-Jets E2;
- More than 120 orders for V2500 engines, including orders from Philippine Airlines and Spirit Airlines;
- Over 70 orders for GEnx engines, from customers including GECAS, United Airlines and Xiamen Airlines.
