Lufthansa Group passenger numbers up in Oct-2011, load factor down
Lufthansa Group reports (10-Nov-2011) the following traffic highlights in Oct-2011:
- Passenger numbers: 9.6 million, +2.1% year-on-year;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 5.9 million, +3.8%;
- SWISS: 1.5 million, +2.3%;
- Austrian Airlines: 1.0 million, +5.1%;
- bmi: 495,000, -10%;
- Germanwings: 736,000, -6.3%;
- Passenger load factor: 77.3%, -3.9 ppts;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 76.8%, -4.1 ppts;
- SWISS: 82.8%, -3.3 ppts;
- Austrian Airlines: 75.3%, -4.8 ppts;
- bmi: 66.4%, -6.2 ppts;

Lufthansa Group: "Sales for the Passenger Airline Group went up by 2.8% in October compared with the previous year. As in the previous month, the pricing environment was slightly down on last year. The Group already responded to the weakening deteriorating conditions in September and reduced capacity growth at Lufthansa Passenger Airlines to 4% in the winter flight plan 2011/12, which applies from the end of October.
