Lufthansa Group passenger numbers up in Aug-2011, load factor down

Lufthansa Group reports (09-Sep-2011) the following traffic highlights in Aug-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 9.9 million, +4% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.4%, -2.0 ppts;
    • Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 81%, -2.1 ppts;
    • SWISS: 85.3%, -1.0 ppts;
    • Austrian Airlines: 79.7%, -3.6 ppts;
    • bmi: 72%, -6.6 ppts;

Lufthansa Group: “In August the Passenger Airline Group recorded another sales increase of 5.7% over last year's strong performance. The pricing environment showed a stable development. Sales growth was achieved both on short-haul routes (+5.2%) and on long-haul connections to America (+6.1%) and Asia (+8.1%).
