London Heathrow Airport announces Apr-2012 pax

UK's London Heathrow Airport passenger numbers stable - traffic highlights for Apr-2012:

• Passenger numbers: 5.8 million, stable year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 118,686 tonnes, -2.5%;
• Aircraft movements: 38,948, -1.1%.

BAA reported traffic between London Heathrow and Brazil, India and China continued to grow in Apr-2012 with the highest increase coming from Brazil at +11.7%. Load factor at the airport also increased 0.1 ppt to 76.4% in Apr-2012, with the average number of seats per aircraft also increasing by 1.1% to 197.6, consistent with the airport having reached its cap on the number of flights, according to BAA.
