Lion awaiting approval for Australian routes

Lion Air is awaiting regulatory approval to commence services to Australia (The Jakarta Post, 13-Jul-2010). The carrier expects to launch services to Australia in early 2011, but further details were not specified. The carrier is also interested in services to China, Thailand and India. Garuda Indonesia and Indonesia AirAsia, currently serve Australia.
