Indian domestic pax up 8% to 5.6 million in Dec-2011; 60.7 million pax in 2011

India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reports (24-Jan-2012) the following Indian domestic traffic highlights:

  • Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 5.6 million, +8% year-on-year;
    • Seat factor:
    • Market share:
      • Air India: 17.4%;
      • Jet Airways: 20.5%;
      • JetLite: 7.1%;
      • Kingfisher: 12.1%;
      • SpiceJet: 16.8%;
      • GoAir: 5.7%;
      • IndiGo: 20.4%.
  • 12 months ended Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 60.7 million, +16.6%;
    • Market share:
      • Air India: 16%;
      • Jet Airways: 18.3%;
      • JetLite: 7.6%;
      • Kingfisher: 18%;
      • SpiceJet: 14.4%;
      • GoAir: 6.1%;
