JetLite was an airine based at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, India. Formerly known as Air Sahara, the airline was taken over by Jet Airways in 2007 and subsequently rebranded as JetLite, an all-economy, low-cost carrier. The carrier previously operated in tandem with fellow Jet LCC brand, JetKonnect. In Aug-2014, Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal announced that the two low-cost brands would be phased out by end-2014 as part of Jet Airways' plans to reposition itself as an entirely full-service airline. However, India's Government did not approve the merger, nearly three years after the proposal was announced by the group in Sep-2015. JetLite resumed operating under the Jet Airways brand, under its own 'S2' code. The carrier suspended operations from 17-Apr-2019, subsequent to Jet Airways' suspension.
