About

Jet Airways was one of the largest airlines in India with hubs at Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Amsterdam airports. The carrier operated an extensive domestic and regional network within the subcontinent, and previously operated services to Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North America. Jet Airways closed reservations to international services, effective 12-Apr-2019. Subsequently, the carrier suspended all operations from 17-Apr-2019 citing financial issues.

JetLite was a subsidiary of Jet Airways, operating under the Jet Airways brand, using its own 'S2' code.

Jet Airways applied to India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation to secure the reinstatement of its air operator's certificate in late Jan-2022. India's DGCA awarded the airline its AOC on 20-May-2022 and the airline aimed to resume services by Oct-2022. On 13-Jan-2023, Jalan-Kalrock Consortium stated India's National Company Law Tribunal "has today ordered the transfer of ownership of Jet Airways to Jalan-Kalrock Consortium in compliance with the resolution plan the Hon'ble Tribunal previously approved".

Jalan-Kalrock Consortium obtained renewal for an air operator certificate for Jet Airways from India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on 28-Jul-2023. JKC plans to revive Jet Airways in the coming weeks.
