flydubai launches Muscat service, Kuwait in two days and India on the cards

flydubai launched twice daily Dubai-Muscat service - see Route Changes Table for more information (TradeArabia News Service, 28-Mar-2010). Muscat is the carrier's third GCC destination after Doha and Bahrain. CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, stated the carrier plans to further increase services to Oman, owing to "immense potential" (Khaleej Times, 29-Mar-2010). The carrier confirmed plans to launch twice daily Dubai-Kuwait service on 30-Mar-2010, bringing its route network up to 13 destinations. Outside the Middle East, flydubai is still interested in operations to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Last week, the carrier announced a proposal to launch services from Dubai to Indian destinations, including Lucknow, Chandigarh and Kozhikode in the Northern Summer 2010. flydubai deferred plans to launch services to India in Aug-2009, due to regulatory delays.

flydubai:
"We have plans to increase the number of flights to Oman, considering the immense potential there. Also, we would like to start a Dubai-Salalah direct service by year-end. India is an important market. We are exploring the possibility of venturing into that vast market. Also, we are looking to launch services to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Iran," Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO. Source: Khaleej Times, 29-Mar-2010.
