Etihad Airways reduces carbon emissions by 72% with Sustainable EY20 London-Abu Dhabi flight

Etihad Airways operated (28-Oct-2021) its Sustainable EY20 London Heathrow-Abu Dhabi flight with Boeing 787 aircraft on 23-Oct-2021, using sustainable aviation fuel along with operational efficiencies developed through its comprehensive Greenliner sustainability programme. This also marked the first commercial flight using contrail avoidance techniques, in partnership with UK based SATAVIA. The flight reduced CO2 emissions by 39,000kg and fuel burn by 1800kg, representing in absolute terms a 72% reduction of carbon emissions compared to the equivalent flight in 2019.
