Emirates sees 'flurry of enquiries' from airports for A380 operation

Emirates launched (01-Sep-2010) Dubai-Manchester service on 01-Sep-2010, with the carrier adding that the carrier is the largest operator of A380 equipment with 12 of the aircraft type in its fleet - see Route Changes Table for more information. The carrier added that a further order for 32 A380s, announced during the Berlin Air Show in Jun-2010, "prompted a flurry of enquiries from airports around the world". Emirates now operates A380s on services to London Heathrow, Manchester, Paris, Sydney, Auckland, Toronto, Bangkok, Seoul, Jeddah and Beijing. Hong Kong will be added to that list from 01-Oct-2010 and on 31-Oct-2010, the aircraft will resume services to New York. Manchester Airport spent USD15 million in upgrading it facilities to accommodate the service (Arabian Business, 01-Sep-2010). [more]
