China Southern Airlines to complete transitional work for withdrawal from SkyTeam by 31-Dec-2019

China Southern Airlines stated (24-Dec-2019) it will complete all transitional work for its withdrawal from SkyTeam Alliance by 31-Dec-2019 and will officially leave the alliance on 01-Jan-2020. Through bilateral cooperation, the carrier will continue to maintain codeshare partnerships with its existing SkyTeam partners and frequent flyer cooperation will be continued with Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinas, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Airlines. Concurrently from 01-Jan-2020, China Southern will officially launch its 'CZ Priority' service brand and discontinue the use of 'SkyPriority' on its own services. In addition to its SkyTeam airline partners, China Southern has accelerated the expansion of its global 'circle of friends', by establishing bilateral codeshare partnerships with: American Airlines, British Airways, Emirates, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways.
