Blue Swan Daily: CPH has numerous potential growth options including Americas, Africa and India

Blue Swan Daily, in a report entitled: 'Copenhagen airport has lofty long haul ambitions and is not afraid to steal long haul routes from rivals to feed its own hub', stated (21-Aug-2019) numerous long haul destinations are "potential growth options" for Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH). While 11 markets are currently linked nonstop in the Americas, there are no cities served west of Chicago to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Minneapolis, Seattle, Boston, San Jose, Nashville and Austin are all potential routes currently unserved. Vancouver could also act as an alternative to Seattle, with only Toronto currently served in Canada. There are no routes to Latin America where Brazil and Mexico are the two countries with the biggest claim to direct services from Copenhagen, nor to Africa, other than Cairo and three cities in Morocco. There is also limited presence in India, with Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad not on the network. Opportunities may also exist in Japan with Osaka, adding to an existing Tokyo connection.
