BAA airport report 2.6% fall in Sep-2009 pax

UK’s BAA reports (09-Oct-2009) the following traffic highlights in Sep-2009;

  • Passenger numbers: 13.0 million, -2.6% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 135,223 tonnes, -6.3%;
  • Aircraft movements: 104,231, -6.1%;
    • Heathrow: 37,869, -5.0%;
    • Gatwick: 23,563, -0.4%;
    • Stansted: 14,376, -10.5%. [more]

BAA: “Conditions remain challenging for the industry. Heathrow continues to perform well in its market, delivering strong long-haul performance on routes to India and the Middle East. At Gatwick there are encouraging signs of growth, particularly in the European scheduled business and the overall numbers around the group appear to be improving,” Colin Matthews, CEO.
