American Airlines: Open skies debate between US Big three, Gulf three ‘not over yet’

American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, speaking at the CAPA America Aviation Summit 2016, stated (12-Apr-2016) the open skies debate between the Gulf three and the US Big Three is "not over yet" and he has "no regrets over starting it." The debate with Emirates, Etihad and Qatar is "hugely important", with the Gulf carriers representing a threat to the US industry. American is continuing dialogue with the US government, said Mr Parker. "They're getting all the information to come to a decision. I'm pleased with the reception we've received in Washington," he said.
