Airports Coordination suggests America, BA and Iberia make slots available at Heathrow

Airport Coordination Limited confirmed (13-Aug-2010) the US Department of Transportation (DoT) and the European Commission have granted antitrust immunity to the trans-Atlantic JV between American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia subject to the release of London slot pairs on selected UK-US markets. The company added that, by way of a remedy for the competition concerns raised by the EC and DoT, the parties should make available London Heathrow (or London Gatwick if requested) slot pairs for competing carriers to operate London to Boston (twice daily), Dallas (daily, and Miami (daily) from summer 2011.
